Election 2008
Floridians Warm to Alaska Gov.
TAMPA
(WUSF) -
The governor of Alaska won a lot of fans in the Florida delegation after her rousing speech last night in St. Paul. WUSF is following delegates at each national convention. Wednesday evening we talked with Tampa delegate Greg Truax shortly after Gov. Sarah Palin's speech.
The GOP crowd chanted, cheered and applauded long after Gov. Palin's acceptance speech was over.
Tampa delegate Greg Truax said men in the Florida delegation did something special to commemorate the nomination of the first woman on a national Republican ticket.
They switched out their floor passes so the Florida's entire delegation on the floor was female. The Florida women were given orange scarves which they waved throughout the vice presidential nominee's speech Wednesday evening.
