Tougher Grading Curve Kept
So, Florida Education Board member Kathleen Shanahan made a case to use last year's formula to grade schools this year. That formula doesn't include student science scores and other more rigorous measures.
"How do we make sure that we build on the integrity that is in the system and make sure that going forward we have integrity in what we're measuring."
The board voted to exclude the faulty third grade reading scores but to keep this year's tougher grading curve for schools with no other changes.
