The Bowling Green State University Collegiate Chorale from Bowling Green, Ohio, will present a concert of sacred and secular music at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Knoxville at 7:30 P.M. on Saturday, May 17. This 30-voice touring mixed choir is conducted by Timothy Cloeter.
The varied concert program spans from classical music to American folksongs, from the Renaissance to the present, and from French chansons to vocal jazz. Concert repertoire will include music by Schütz, Purcell, Bach, Brahms, Fauré, Debussy, Gjeilo, Jennings, Clausen, and Hogan. Program highlights will include Bach’s motet Ich lasse dich nicht,” Fauré’s “Agnus Dei” from "Requiem," Debussy’s "Trois chansons de Charles d’Orleans," Brahms’ "Liebeslieder" waltzes, and vocal jazz arrangements by the Real Group.
