Host Frank Stasio speaks with WUNC's Greensboro Bureau Chief Jeff Tiberii about development in downtown Greensboro. Greensboro's food cooperative, Deep Roots Market, is moving downtown and will be the first grocery store in downtown in 30 years. Author Craig Nova believes narratives about loving men are often lost in contemporary literature. His latest novel, "The Constant Heart" (Counterpoint Press, 2012) celebrates the bond of a father and son, and uses the laws of science and nature to explore what it means to be a good man today. "The Constant Heart" recently appeared on The New Yorker's "Best Books of 2012" List. Nova's writing has been featured in Esquire, The Paris Review, The New York Times Magazine and Men's Journal. Host Frank Stasio talks with Craig Nova, a professor of English at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Bruce Piephoff is a poet and musician hailing from Greensboro, NC. He's had a 40 year career as a singer-songwriter of folk music and has recorded 20 albums along the way. He is joined by producer and musician Scott Sawyer for a live performance with the State of Things at Triad Stage. |
