State Auditor To Comb Over KACO & KLC's Books
(2009-07-01)
(wuky) - Investigations by the Lexington-Herald Leader have raised questions about alleged extravagant spending by top officials at the Kentucky Association of Counties and the Kentucky League of Cities. State Auditor Crit Luallen is concerned about the reports at the publicly funded agencies and will audit each. "We'll be starting with employee benefits and expenses and we'll be looking at the broad array of policies that are in place to guarantee board oversight of their finances."

The boards of the two non-profit agencies have already begun taking steps to better monitor and control credit card use, travel expenses and reimbursements.
