The history of customs, courtship, marriage and social life of Springfield will be presented by Ericka Holst, curator of the Edwards Place. She will discuss antebellum Springfield, especially courtships and weddings, from letters of the Benjamin Edwards family and their friends. The Edwards played host to socially prominent friends like Stephan Douglas, David Davis, John Todd Stuart, Stephen Logan and Abraham Lincoln.
