US Attorney Confirmed For SW Ala.
The Senate on Saturday approved the nomination of 40-year-old Kenyen Brown. The Detroit native served as an assistant U.S. attorney in the Mobile office from 1996 to 1999.
Brown will oversee criminal and civil cases in a 13-county area. The job has been vacant since Deborah Rhodes resigned in April.
In response to a Senate questionnaire, Brown noted his work on drug prosecutions during his earlier tenure in the U.S. attorney's office.

A University of Alabama alumnus who has been working for the U.S. House ethics committee is the new U.S. attorney for southwest Alabama.The Senate on Saturday approved the nomination of 40-year-old Kenyen Brown.
