Ala. Court Upholds Taxes Agaisnt VFJ Ventures
(2008-09-22)
(APR - Alabama Public Radio ) - A decision by the Alabama Supreme Court has allowed the state to avoid the prospect of a multimillion-dollar revenue loss in a corporate tax case.

The state's highest court issued an unanimous ruling Friday approving of the way the state collects some corporate taxes. VFJ Ventures Inc. had challenged the collection after state tax officials said it must pay more than $1 million to the state.

State revenue officials say the ruling will impact about 30 similar cases pending before an administrative law judge. Those cases involve about $50 million in tax assessments.
