Disaster Order Issued For Ala. Coastal Counties MOBILE, AL (APR - Alabama Public Radio ) - President Bush has issued a disaster declaration for Alabama that will allow federal aid for Hurricane Gustav recovery in Mobile and Baldwin counties.

In a statement Wednesday, the White House said federal funding is available to state and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work.

It also covers the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by Gustav.

The hurricane caused some minor flooding Sept. 1 as it moved into Louisiana.
