Few Power Problems After Gustav MONTGOMERY, AL (APR - Alabama Public Radio ) - Alabama Power reports 2,375 customers in Mobile County are without power after Hurricane Gustav.

About 2,000 of those customers are on Dauphin Island, where the transmission line went out of service. A company spokesman says crews had to wait until the seas calmed before they could go out in boats to assess the transmission line. It's uncertain when power might be restored to the island.

Gov. Bob Riley has lifted the evacuation order for low-lying and flood-prone areas of Mobile and Baldwin counties along the Alabama coast.

Riley says all roads are open and it's safe for residents to return.
