National Cemetery Will Open Sunday
Cemetery Director Quincy Whitehead said ceremonies will start at 2 p.m.
The site has been nicknamed ''The Arlington of the South.''
The cemetery will accept its first burials in the fall.
There are two national cemeteries in Alabama. The Fort Mitchell National Cemetery near Phenix City and the Mobile National Cemetery.

Alabama's newest burial ground for military veterans will be dedicated Sunday. The 479-acre site is located next to American Village in Montevallo.Cemetery Director Quincy Whitehead said ceremonies will start at 2 p.m.
The site has been nicknamed ''The Arlington of the South.''
