Drought Gets Better in Alabama
(APR - Alabama Public Radio ) - Another week passes and the drought map for Alabama looks better at first glance.

Last week, the National Drought Monitor showed 71 percent of the state was drought-free. This week, 20 percent of the state is no longer feeling the effects of drought.

The worst drought conditions are the D-2 or severe condition. Only a quarter of the state is covered by that designation. Last week, only 22 percent of Alabama was classified as D-2.

The Survey said the drought conditions in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and into Alabama continued to decline.
