NASA's Next Generation Moon-Rocket Grows In Size
(APR - Alabama Public Radio ) - NASA is releasing new details about the latest design of America's next moon rocket.

Officials at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville said Wednesday the Ares V rocket would be about 20 feet longer than first envisioned, or 381 feet total.

The rocket will have six main engines at its base instead of five. And engineers have decided to enlarge the twin solid-rocket boosters that will be bolted to its side. It will hold more fuel and be able to carry more supplies and equipment than first planned.

NASA says a review found that astronauts can be back on the moon in 12 years, by 2020.
