Riley Asks Faith Groups for More Help
(APR - Alabama Public Radio ) - Gov. Bob Riley has encouraged faith-based and community-based groups to get more involved in addressing some of the problems facing the state.

Riley kicked off the annual conference of the Governor's Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives in Montgomery on Monday.

Riley said people shouldn't look to the government for the answers to all problems because the best solutions often come from faith-based and community groups. He urged more than 300 people attending the conference to do more to help children stay in school, to support inmates once they leave prison, and to help people overcome disasters.
