Tuition on the Rise at All UA Campuses
(APR - Alabama Public Radio ) - All three University of Alabama campuses are looking at double-digit increases in tuition for this fall.

Trustees of the system meet beginning Thursday in Tuscaloosa, and officials at each campus have proposed tuition increases to make up for budget cuts approved by the Legislature earlier this year.

Students at the University of Alabama in Huntsville face the largest possible increase, of about 14 percent. The cost of 12 semester hours would jump from $2,284 to $2,604.

The Tuscaloosa campus is seeking an increase of 12 percent. The University of Alabama at Birmingham is proposing tuition hikes of nearly 11 percent, with the exact amount depending on the school in which a student is enrolled.
