Ala. State Names Acting And Interim President MONTGOMERY, AL (APR - Alabama Public Radio ) - Alabama State has named both an acting and an interim president.

The university named John Knight Jr. to serve as acting president until July 14. Then William Harris will return to Alabama State as interim president until a replacement for Joe A. Lee has been found.

Knight is special assistant to the president and executive director for marketing and communications.

Harris was ASU's president from 1994 to 2000.
