Moore Says He's Not Considering Court Race
(APR - Alabama Public Radio ) - Former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore said Friday he has received encouragement to run for an open seat on the Alabama Supreme Court next year, but he has no plans to enter the race.

Moore's name keeps popping up when candidates announce for the Supreme Court seat being vacated by Republican Justice Harold See.

In a phone interview, Moore said he's been encouraged to run for that seat, as well as for president, in 2008. He's also been encouraged to make another bid for governor in 2010.

Moore also said he has no plans to endorse anyone in the presidential race.

So far, one Democrat, Lauderdale County District Judge Deborah Bell Paseur, and two Republicans, state Finance Director Jim Main and state criminal appeals court Judge Greg Shaw, have announced they will run for Alabama's highest court next year.
