Renovation Plans for I-65 in Montgomery MONTGOMERY, AL (APR - Alabama Public Radio ) - ''Project 65'' is being called Governor Bob Riley's largest road construction project.

The 80-million dollar project, announced by state department of transportation officials, will cover a five-mile length of Interstate-65 that runs through Montgomery.

Over the next few months, crews will begin work on the part of I-65 that extends between the Catoma Creek bridge and the Mill Street bridge.

Bridge widening will also be carried out north of Fairview Avenue on the Alabama River Bridge.

The construction project is set to begin in late July. It is scheduled for completion in October 2009.
