$20 Post Office Robbery Could Bring 25 Years
(2007-06-06)
(APR - Alabama Public Radio ) - A post office in the tiny community of Ralph got an unexpected surprise yesterday morning at around 8-15. The office was robbed at gunpoint. A postal inspector says the suspect jumped over a counter and took around $20 from a register, and then fled in a dark-colored Chevrolet, possibly an Impala or Lumina. No customers were in the post office and no one was injured. It is a federal crime to rob a post office. It's a crime that carries a sentence of up to 25 years in federal prison. The U.S. Postal Service is offering a 50,000 dollar reward for information leading to the gunman's capture. Ralph is located in southwest Tuscaloosa County near the Greene County line. © Copyright 2021, APR - Alabama Public Radio
