Alabama
Entire State Under Fire Alert
Coleen Vansant, a commission spokeswoman, said conditions are extreme and there's a potential for devastating wildfires. She said the fire alert will remain in effect until enough rain is received to eliminate the problem.
Remember, a fire alert means permits for outdoor burning are restricted and issued only on an individual basis.
Meanwhile, the National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for virtually the entire state.
The warning means that critical fire weather conditions are occurring due to a combination of strong winds, low humidity and warm temperatures.
