Alabama Soldiers Mobilize for Iraq
Personnel assigned to the Army Reserve's 787th Support Battalion based in Dothan gathered yesterday (Sunday) for a mobilization ceremony to hear from Mayor Pat Thomas and others.
The Army said the 787th will depart next month for Fort Bragg, North Carolina, for a month of training before deploying to Iraq.
So far, more than 12-thousand soldiers and airmen from Alabama-based unit have participated in the war on terror since September 12th, 2001. 62 have died in Iraq and Afghanistan.
