Legislator Lawsuit Set for April 2nd
(APR - Alabama Public Radio ) - A lawsuit filed by a challenger to Senator Larry Means goes to trial on April 2nd. The suit seeks to remove Means from office for failing to file campaign finance reports before the Nov 7 general election. Jack Lowe Jr. of Gadsden filed the suit. He unsuccessfully challeged Means in a write-in campaign. The Legislature will have been in session for about a month when the trial begins. A trial date has not yet been set for a separate lawsuit against four other senators. That suit is against Senators Lowell Barron, Roger Bedford, Zeb Little, and Hank Sanders, D-Selma. All are Democrats.
