Birmingham Barons Headed to Minor League Playoffs TUSCALOOSA, AL (APR - Alabama Public Radio ) - Alabama has four minor league baseball franchises, but only one is going to the Southern League playoffs this year -- the Birmingham Barons. The team has enjoyed good seasons before, but this one set a record: a .655 win percentage, the highest in the Barons' 124-year history.
