The water sharing dispute between Alabama, Georgia and Florida took a dramatic turn recently. The US Supreme Court let stand a ruling that placed new limits on withdrawals from Lake Lanier, which is used to support water use in Atlanta. The more water Georgia uses from that federal reservoir, the less water flows downstream to support interests in Alabama and Florida.
