The Eastern European Immigrant who created the Musical Soundtrack for America If America has a musical identity or musical DNA, conductor JoAnn Falletta says it was created by an Eastern European immigrant who composed music in his Brooklyn apartment. His name: Aaron Copland.

JoAnn Falletta is the Music Director for the Buffalo Philharmonic and the Virginia Symphony. She has an all-Copland CD on the Naxos label (Naxos 8559240).
