Where do Broome County's recyclables go after they're collected?
LIVERPOOL, NY
(wskg) -
As part of our Thinking Green series this week we've been exploring recyling in Broome County. Today we're visiting a plant that sorts and markets recyclables from Broome and 10 other New York counties. Municipal haulers from Binghamton, Endicott, Union and Johnson City bring their recyclables here for processing. Click above to hear Jennifer Matoney's report.
Waste Management Reycle America hauls and processes recyclables across the U.S. and Canada. The company also operates landfills. Management plans to triple the company's reycling tonage in the next twelve years.
