Landau (1917-2001), a printmaker, painter, humanist and teacher, was an artist whose works explored the basic themes of human existence and morality. Many of his works are included in the permanent collections of museums such as the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Hirshhorn Museum.
Growing up during the Great Depression and affected by the Holocaust, Landau grappled with man's cruelty to each other. His works bear witness to these injustices and attempt to uphold our moral accountability for these actions.
A reception will be held in the Grand Corridor. RSVP to 777-6799 by Monday, Sept. 21.
