Binghamton's own period-instrument ensemble follows up last year's sold-out debut concert with a program of early seventeenth-century Italian vocal and instrumental music by Claudio Monteverdi and his contemporaries. The group will explore rich sonorities, dazzling melodies, and infectious dance rhythms of Monteverdi, Tarquinio Merula, Giovanni Battista Fontana, and Biagio Marini. This event is sponsored by the Binghamton University Department of Music.
Tickets are $9 for the general public, $7 for faculty, staff, and seniors, and $1 for students. Tickets are available at the Anderson Center Box Office from noon to 5:30 p.m. weekdays, by calling (607) 777-AR T S, online at http://anderson.binghamton.edu, or at the door.
