Wissman Announces Re-Election CARBONDALE, IL (wsiu) - Carbondale City Councilman Chris Wissmann is running for re-election.
Wissmann made the announcement today (Tue). He was first elected in 2003 and again in 2005. Wissmann cites expanding and reorganizing the city police force; helping create the city's rental-property inspection program; and tougher animal -control provisions among his accomplishments. Wissmann is a SIU Carbondale graduate and is co-founder of the Nightlife newspaper.
Three City Council seats are open for election on April 7th. If 13 or more candidates file, a primary election will be held on February 24th.
