Language Used In The Fall Election Ballot Is Causing Concern
He's referencing a sentence in the constitutional convention question that details the question's failure the last time it was on the ballot, 20 years ago.
State Representative Mike Boland is pushing a House Joint Resolution demanding that the language be pulled.
He says the state has the chance to have unprecedented voter input on the constitutional convention question, because it will be at the top of the ballot in Illinois.
Quinn says he's willing to sue over this, although he acknowledges the clock is ticking since the election is in six weeks and early voting starts October 13th.
The Illinois Farm Bureau isn't being swayed by this argument. Farm Bureau lobbyist Kevin Semlow says having the last attempt's failure spelled out in black and white on the ballot isn't biased. He also says there's no need for a constitutional convention.
