Man Killed After Fall at Little Grand Canyon CARBONDALE, IL (wsiu) - A southern Illinois man has died after he fell about 200 feet down a scenic overlook at Little Grand Canyon in the Shawnee National Forest.
Authorities say they found the body of 20-year-old Joseph Kelly of Makanda over the weekend at the bottom of the overlook. Jackson County Sheriff's Deputies say Kelly appeared to have died instantly. They do not suspect foul play.
Shawnee National Forest lists the Little Grand Canyon trail as difficult. Police say the investigation continues.
