Budget Cuts To Negatively Affect Disabled People
UCP executive director Don Moss says some providers may have to lay off staff, and says a couple are talking about having to shut down. He says that would leave hundreds of children and adults with disabilities with a tough choice.
Moss says between the late payments and budget cuts, he doesn't know if all the community providers can stay open. He says the late reimbursements total $4.5 million for one provider, and says that kind of gap in funding could lead to tough decisions.
