Unemployment Continues To Rise
That's the highest rate since June 1992, according to data released today (thursday) by the Illinois department of employment security and the U.S. Bureau of labor statistics.
But University of Illinois economics professor, Fred Giertz (gertz), says the numbers aren't surprising.
Nationally, unemployment is 6.1 percent, a five-year high. All sectors shed jobs except one, health care services. National job losses so far this year total more than 600,000.

Times remain tough. The evidence is as near as the unemployment line.
