Four Arrested in Battery
Jackson County Sheriff's Deputies say the incident began as 23-year old Jonathan Villenaire and 24-year old John A. Bradley asked authorities to help them get their belongings from a home on Old Route 13. The two had been asked to leave the residence, although it's not known why.
Deputies say after they left, Bradley and Villenaire were walking back toward Carbondale when they were attacked. Investigators say the four suspects followed them from the home and assaulted them because they'd called for police to help them retrieve their belongings.
31-year old Jeremy Mintz of Carbondale, 21-year old Casey Nagy of Columbia, Missouri, 17-year old Tasha Trantham of Colorado Springs and 45-year old David Williams... who is homeless... were all arrested at the home on Crockett Road a short time later and taken to the Jackson County Jail.
They face aggravated battery, robbery and mob action charges and are expected to go before a judge later today.
