Animal Shelter Needs to Relocate
Saint Francis has battled high water twice this year and left some animals sick.
SIU Women's Golf Coach and shelter co-founder Diane Dougherty says it's too expensive for the shelter to keep rebuilding after a flood so they are trying to move. She says they're looking for a nice citizen to donate land or sell about five acres at a decent price.
Dougherty says because of where the shelter is located the only options are to move or close.
To help support the shelter the SIU Golf team and Doctor and Mrs. Glenn Poshard will hold a benefit at Blue Sky Winery. The event is September 21st from two to five p.m. and tickets are a twenty five dollar donation to Saint Francis. This includes live music, two drink tickets, hors d'oeuvers, and a silent auction.
To donate auction items call 618-893-1600.
