Governor to Expand "Pre-School For All" Program
The multi-year initiative is designed to get more three and four year olds enrolled in a quality educational program.
State Board of Education spokesperson Matt Vanover says funding for the effort has been increased this year.
The goal is to have pre-school available to all families that want it, so that kids can get off to a good start.
Illinois became the first state in the nation to make all 3- and 4-year-olds eligible for state-funded pre-school when governor Rod Blagojevich rolled out the pre-school for all program in 2006.
