Rural Carbondale Man Charged with Murder MARION, IL (wsiu) - Williamson County State's Attorney Chuck Garnati says he's filed murder charges against a rural Carbondale man in connection to the stabbing death of a woman early Tuesday morning.

Garnati says 51-year old Charles Davis is charged with first-degree murder... and could face more charges after the investigation is finished.

Davis is charged in the death of 26-year old Andrea Heiken... and Garnati says detectives are still looking into the nature of the relationship between the two.

Police responded to Heiken's home around three o'clock Tuesday morning. She was rushed to a local hospital, and later died. Davis was taken to an out-of-state hospital for treatment of what authorities call self-inflicted stab wounds.

Garnati says Heiken's two children were home at the time, but it's unclear just what they saw. He also says toxicology tests are pending... to see if alcohol or any other drugs were involved in the incident.
