Possible Murder in Spillway Road Apartment CARBONDALE, IL (wsiu) - The Williamson County Sheriff's Department is investigating an apparent murder in an apartment building on Spillway road.
Deputies say they received a 911 call around three AM about a stabbing in the apartment building.
When they arrived, they found a 26-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds. She was taken to a local hospital where she died around nine AM.
After a brief standoff in the apartment, deputies arrested a 51-year-old man who was suffering from self-inflicted stab wounds. He was taken to an out of state hospital for treatment of his inuries.
Authorities say the 51year old suspect and 26 year old victim knew each and they are investigating the case as a homicide.
Their names are not being released until the victim's family is notified.
