Red Cross Urges Blood Donations During the Holidays
Southern Illinois schools have been holding area blood drives helping to ensure the Red Cross maintains an adequate blood supply.
Red Cross communications coordinator Joette Phillips says blood donations start to decrease from Thanksgiving through New Year's Eve.
Phillips says it's still important to donate blood even though the holidays' are here.
A blood drive is scheduled for Monday from 12:30 pm to 4 pm at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro.
