Shimkus testifies before House Ethics panel
(2006-10-14)
U.S. Rep. John Shimkus (UPI file photo)
(St. Louis Public Radio) - Congressman John Shimkus, who oversees the congressional page program, says "having 20-20 hindsight, a lot of things would have been done differently."

The Collinsville Republican spent more than three hours today (Friday) answering questions from House investigators, and explaining how he acted to stop ex-congressman Mark Foley from e-mailing a Louisiana page late last year. Shimkus has said he kept two other lawmakers, who also oversee the pages, in the dark because the boy's parents had asked him not to tell them. Shimkus says he testified today to help investigators find out "who knew what, when and where." © Copyright 2012, St. Louis Public Radio
