Meeks Pushes Teacher Quality
(2006-06-23)
(Chicago Public Radio) - Illinois State Senator James Meeks used the threat of an independent campaign for governor to force Governor Rod Blagojevich to deliver more money for schools.

Now, the state's political powerbroker-of-the-moment has seized on the grim news in a recent report on teacher quality.

Meeks is pressuring Chicago Mayor Richard Daley to take steps to lure better teachers to the city's worst schools.
