A Canadian expert on sexual harassment says men and boys must be part of the solution as well as women. Michael Kaufman says that's also true of other kinds of violence against women. Kaufman speaks Thursday at Western Michigan University as of Human Rights Awareness Week. He's a founder of the international White Ribbon Campaign to involve men in efforts to end violence against women.
Kaufman told W-M-U-K's Andy Robins that the causes of that violence lie, in part, in destructive notions of masculinity (click on the link to hear the full interview).
Kaufman, who lives in Toronto, will speak Thursday evening in Kalamazoo about ways men and women can work together to end violence against women. His presentation is part of Human Rights Awareness Week at Western Michigan University. It starts Thursday at 7 p.m. in Room 2304 at Sangren Hall.
