Woman Pleads Guilty To Child Endangerment
(2004-04-17)
(KOSU) - A Pawnee woman has pleaded guilty to child
endangerment for putting two children in her car trunk.
Prosecutors say police rescued Marcella Kim Stephenson's nine- and ten-year-old daughters from the trunk in the parking lot of a Stillwater Wal-Mart in August.
Police say Stephenson told an officer she had left an opening in the back seat so the children could breathe. The children were found in good health.
Police say there were two adults in the front seat and five children in the back seat at the time the children were found.
Stephenson remains free on $2,500 bond. Her sentencing was scheduled for June 18th.
