Two Finalists Announced for SIUC Chancellor
(2009-11-02)
(wsiu) - Southern Illinois University Carbondale's search for a new chancellor has come to its final round.
The search committee Monday announced its two finalists for the position: Dr. Rita Cheng, Provost and Vice Chancellor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and Dr. Barbara Couture, Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

SIU President Glenn Poshard says the final choice will not just be a decision by the president, but a decision made by the president with consultation from the community.

Both candidates will come to Carbondale, Cheng on Thursday, and Couture next Monday. Both will meet on their respective days from 8:30-9:45 A.M. for a discussion panel in Morris Library's John Guyon Auditorium and from 6-7 P.M. at the Student Center's International Lounge for a student reception.
