More Job Cuts, Closures for Illinois
Thirteen state historic sites and eleven state parks will close.
Workers will be laid off from the Departments of Human Services, Children and Family Services, Natural Resources and the Historic Preservation Agency.
Kelley Quinn is a spokeswoman for Governor Rod Blagojevich. She says officials have no choice because Blagojevich had to cut $1.4 billion from an out-of-balance budget.
She says the administration is trying to minimize adverse affects.
She couldn't say whether more layoffs are coming.
DCFS is laying off 179 employees. Another 125 will be required to move to vacant positions in areas where caseloads are heavier.

The Blagojevich Administration says it will lay off 325 workers this fall because of budget cuts.Thirteen state historic sites and eleven state parks will close.
