Ohio Basic Minerals planning million dollar expansion
(2008-07-29)
(WOUB) - Ohio Basic Minerals is apparently going to increase its operations and the state is offering incentives for that to happen at the company's present location in Jackson County.

The Ohio Department of Development says the company is planning a five or six million dollar expansion that would add 30 jobs.

Ohio is in competition with Kentucky and West Virginia for the project, which includes adding a silica plant.

The Development Financing Advisory Council has just approved a $1 million low interest loan.

And the Ohio Tax Credit Authority is kicking in tax credits valued at $69,000.

Ohio Basic Minerals produces and sells sand and gravel from leased quarries in Jackson County.
