The public is invited to the second Syracuse Neighborhood Action Conference, scheduled for 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, October 19 at Fowler High School, 227 Magnolia Street, Syracuse, New York. The conference will offer networking opportunities, presentations and more than 15 workshops led by experts on on topics including community organizing, grant writing, public speaking, social media, neighborhood safety, and ways individuals and groups can build capacity and be more effective agents for positive change. Lunch will feature a panel discussion with funders from foundations and corporations, and community organizations will staff information tables at a mid-day vendor fair.
The cost is $8.00 per person in advance and $10.00 per person at the door. Organizers are also offering a discounted fee of $5.00 for those aged 18-24. Checks should be made payable to Home HeadQuarters and mailed or delivered to 990 James Street, Suite 100, Syracuse, New York 13203. Checks and money orders may also be dropped off at the Gifford Foundation, 100 Clinton Square, or City Hall Commons, 201 East Washington Street, Sixth Floor, Syracuse.
