By now we've all seen the pictures of how the Gulf Oil spill is threatenting wildlife: an oil-soaked pelican being cleaned by volunteers, a crab covered in oil; a turtle floating dead in the water, among many, many more.

The fate of these animals -- how to save them, and how seriously they're threatened -- is part of the focus of a conference this week at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence. The event is expected to draw hundreds of researchers and students studying fish, amphibians and reptiles. One of those scientists is Eric Schultz from the University of Connecticut. He spoke recently with WRNI's Bob Seay.
