(RIPR) - There's a new chocolate bar for sale that will help needy children in Central Falls.

The brown and blue wrapper features a picture of the William Wheat Chocolate Mill. It was in the city when Central Falls was known as Chocolateville back in the mid-18th century.

Inside the wrapper there's a story about how the candy will help needy kids in the struggling city. Andy Shotts owns Garrison's Confections, the only chocolatier in Central Falls. He says it made sense to be a part of something that helps children.

"There are a lot of kids in the street where my building is, and I just see things and I'm like thinking why can't I do something to help out here, that's why I'm doing it," says Shotts.

The "Save Chocolateville" candy bars will be sold at Whole Foods University Heights in Providence. Leadership Rhode Island is sponsoring the project and says it expects more places will sell the chocolate bars for a limited time.
