R.I. community health centers receive federal funding
(2010-10-13)
(RIPR) - U.S. Senator Jack Reed and Representative Jim Langevin are in Cranston Wednesday celebrating $4 million in federal grants for Rhode Island community health centers.

Comprehensive Community Action in Cranston will receive more than a million dollars to renovate its building, and East Bay Community Action will use its nearly $3 million to build a new facility in Newport.

The money is a slice of the more than $725 million in federal grants going out to community health centers across the country.

Heath centers can expect more than $10 billion from the federal government over the next 5 years as a part of the nation's health care overhaul.
